Who Are You?
NYC
Photographer and Explorer based of out New York City dedicated to creating art and memories, hundreds of feet in the air.
What is a memory attached to one of the images shared?
The morning on MoMa tower definitely comes to mind. As we were wrapping up a night of unsuccessful spots and dawn approaching, we gave this one a shot. Dehydrated and only a beer to split between five guys. We cleared over 70 stories in less than 10 minutes just so we didn't miss a single moment of the sunrise. The view topped with the chase out, made the exhausted, smiling faces of my companions priceless to look at as we made our way back home.
What’s in your bag?
Not too long ago I had my camera bag stolen at a park and unfortunately am still working on piecing together the setup I used to have. At the moment, I use a a Canon 6D MkII, Irix 11mm 4.0, Sigma 24mm 1.4. GoPro Hero 4 Silver, Manfrotto Tripod
Did photography lead you to exploring or vice versa?
Why do you explore?
I, like a lot of other explorers started in the Skateboarding scene shooting photos and videos of friends doing tricks out on the street. One night, after a long day of skating, my friends and I decided to check out this abandoned train station. We shot a couple photos in there, and the rest was history.
Exploring really brings out the type of person you are and shows you what you can handle. It engages not only your body, but your mind as well as your souI. Physicality, critical thinking, problem solving, confidence, stress, time management, and creativity are all engaged in order to reach your goal. My goal was never that complicated. It's as simple as being able to look at an iconic structure and having a very personal, and sometimes outlandish story associated with it. This, as well as the memories I've made and the bonds I've forged with individuals who I literally have trusted with my life. That in itself is an irreplaceable commodity that is rare to accumulate.
